Travel & Lodging Information

A detailed schedule will be posted and distributed once presenters are determined. For now, the Gathering will

• begin on the morning of Wednesday, August 7, and
• end mid afternoon of Thursday, August 8.

At a minimum participants outside of the DFW area should plan

• to arrive on Tuesday, August 6, and
• depart late on Thursday, August 8.

The UM Scholars Gathering will be held at

We are grateful to the church and its pastor, Rev. Stan Copeland, for hosting the conference and providing technological support.

AIR TRAVEL

Most airlines fly into the Dallas metro area.

• The closest airport to our venue is Dallas Love Field (DAL), which is the hub for Southwest Airlines.
  
• Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW) is larger and is the hub for American Airlines.

There are numerous hotels within a few miles of Lovers Lane UMC that offer discounts for friends of SMU or Lovers Lane UMC. A full list can be found HERE.

The list below includes some of the less expensive hotels in the area that are near each other (so that we can try to coordinate transportation to/from the church). NOTE: it is worth comparing to see if better prices can be acquired using other booking sites):
